The Sun enters the sign of Libra on September 22 at 7:44 am CDT, there to remain through October 22. During this time, there sounds a background note of partnership, cooperation, and teamwork, a noticeable contrast to the theme of detailed self-analysis which held sway while the Sun was in exacting Virgo from August 22 through September 22.

While the Sun in Libra draws persons together for shared activities of all kinds, many other influences enter the picture. It all begins with the Libra Equinox of September 22, a point in time when the forces of polarity are momentarily neutralized. This allows for a special opportunity to perceive the nature of the universe and to create an intentional alignment with the power of choice.

Symbolized by the scales or balances, Libra is a sign which deals with the process of deliberation. Under this sign are carried out the processes of weighing and balancing options, on the way to making a decision. Hence, Libra is an archetype embodying the power of choice.

The Libra Equinox as a mile-marker moment highlighting the power of choice kicks off the month on September 22.
